This is a full-time on-site role for a Database and Server Administrator located in Vancouver, BC. The Database and Server Administrator will be responsible for maintaining critical database and server infrastructure, including installing, configuring, monitoring, backing up, and restoring databases, as well as optimizing databases for performance and security. The Database and Server Administrator will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and provide customized solutions, and participate in disaster recovery exercises and capacity planning activities.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of database and server administration principles, including knowledge of Microsoft SQL, CockroachDB, MongoDB, MySQL, Linux, and Windows Server
  • Experience with cloud-based database and server environments, and familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Platform
  • Advanced knowledge of database performance optimization and tuning, database backup and recovery strategies, and database security tools and practices
  • Experience in scripting or automation tools (e.g., shell scripting, PowerShell, Python) is a plus
  • Prior experience in technical documentation, disaster recovery planning, and capacity planning is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills

The Digital New Media Researcher will be responsible for carrying out internal applied research projects, writing technical reports and planning, executing and evaluating product trials in the field of new media and broadcasting. The applicant will be responsible for leading projects, ensuring projects remain within their budget, and for communicating with industrial clients and collaborators regarding budgets. The incumbent will provide supervision, support and guidance to the entire research team regarding project design, as well as approaches to utilizing required equipment and tools to ensure timely, innovative project outcomes are achieved. The Research Engineer conducts data collection and analysis, writes technical reports and presents results to various stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree preferred in either Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or another related program
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in an interdisciplinary engineering research environment planning, preparing and executing tests and trials and managing research networks and projects

Accountant Job Description

  • Support and coordinate the daily accounting activities involving billing and accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and personnel actions, inventory, general bookkeeping and financial accounting for AEBC Internet Corporation and CipherTV Corporation. Work with a staff of three personnel. Coordinate across other companies and operating departments to affect and manage the various tasks and matters.
  • Establish, recommends and implement policies and procedures, system improvements, internal controls and best practices, resolutions on accounting and operational issues, customer relations and standards, tax interpretations, automation, and other matters affecting operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage company funds, foreign exchange requirements and TDFX transactions, credit card use allocation for optimal use and leverage to bank line of credit.
  • Manage and complies on various statutes and regulations affecting company operations involving labor standards, federal and provincial taxation including tax audit, income tax, BC Registry corporate affairs and annual reports including amalgamation and dissolution, and various regulatory reporting compliance.
  • Manage, administer, act as liaison on company business with CRA on various filings, Ministry of Finance, BC Corporate Registry, WCB, CRTC, Statistics Canada, CICO and USPTO for trademarks, GS1 Canada for bar code, City Of Vancouver/Richmond, Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau and CCTS for customer complaints, TD bank covenants reporting compliance, Chamber Group Benefit Plan as administrator, Service Canada, customers and vendors representatives, and independent consultants.
