| The
Vancouver Breakers finish the Seattle Select women's club playoff hopes
by defeating them at Swangard Saturday night by the score of 3-1.
This now sets the stage for the first round playoff Match vs. Texas next
Sunday. |

clear-cut Timbers at home 4-0... |
| The
Whitecaps brushed aside concerns that they might be fatigued after a
tough road loss in El Paso, by turning in one of the best performances
in club history. Playing on a waterlogged pitch, Steve Kindel netted the
winner in the first half. The emphatic 4-0 victory was Vancouver's
biggest of the season and moves the Caps into second place in the
Western Conference, just one point back of first place Portland. |

The
Vancouver Whitecaps. bolstered by forward Jason Jordan's goal and
assist, plus a splendid display of finish by Steve Kindel - defeated the
El Paso Patriots on Friday night 2-0. The win puts the Caps 7
points up on 2nd place Seattle, and increases there current streak to 8
wins in the last 9 matches. |

The Whitecaps defeated the A-League's top team,
the Richmond Kickers, with a
dramatic come-from-behind win on an overtime goal from Burnaby's Dave
Morris.
The victory, in front of Vancouver's second largest crowd of the season,
restores Vancouver's hold on first place in the Western Conference. The
Whitecaps have now won seven of their last eight.
Vancouver improves to 10W-5L-1T and 46 points,
putting them four up on
Portland with a game in hand. Richmond falls to 12-4-2 and 55 points,
the
best in the league. |

Breakers finish Fort
Collins... |
In the first half of a Swangard Stadium
doubleheader, the Vancouver Breakers
overcame the visiting Fort Collins Force of Colorado 2-1 on an 82nd
minute
goal by midfielder Katie Lee. Playing in front of their largest ever
crowd,
the Breakers had trouble against Fort Collins who were in a must-win
situation in the Western Conference playoff race.
The Breakers record improves to 11-1-1, and 51
points. They had already
clinched first place in the West. Fort Collins drops to 6W-6L-1T and 28
points and are now eliminated from playoff contention. |

The red-hot Whitecaps defeated the visiting San
Diego Flash 3-0 to move into
sole possession of first place in the Western Conference. Steve Kindel
lead
the way with a goal and an assist, with his winning goal coming only 33
seconds from the opening whistle. Terry St. Louis and Jason Jordan added
the
other markers, while Didar Sandhu picked up his sixth shutout of the
season. |
